Tampa, Florida - With thousands of children across Florida in need of a forever family potential parents need to know that in some instances they can double or triple the size of their family based on just one adoption.
There are plenty of sisters and brothers out there who want to grow up together under the same roof. No one knows that more than the Gill family.
Tina Gill laughs as she says, "At first we didn't think we could do it. We really struggled a lot." She and her husband Keith were already busy raising their 19 year old daughter Erica and their 9 year old son Wyatt. They were also running a busy Brandon daycare caring for other children. But they still decided to make a difference in yet another child's life by becoming foster parents.
They adopted Little Miguel first. He'd been in the system since he was born. He's 2 years old now. Tina says, "These children out there - they need love - and they need you. Once you meet them they'll get your heart. You won't have a chance once you meet them - because they win every time."
But the Gill family didn't stop there. When they learned Miguel had a younger brother who also needed a forever home they didn't hesitate to open their doors to Elias too adopting them both. Elias is a year old now. Tina says, "We had grown to have two brothers together that loved each other and wanted to be together and it was hard not to see them together and to know he could just go somewhere else completely and not ever see him ever again was not something we could see as an option."
Caring for four kids isn't easy but the memories being made Tina says are priceless. She laughs again and says "It's just that initial shock. It's like jumping into cold water. Once you're in it's alright."
Tina says her and her husband have no regrets. "No not all we love our babies."
