St. Petersburg , Florida -- 13-year-old Austin knew he was in for fun-filled day.
He got out of school early to do an interview with us for the segment and that made him very happy.
But happy doesn't begin to describe how he felt when he got the chance to meet his hero, Bucs great, Mike Alstott. Austin was nearly speechless but it didn't last long.
The A-Train and Austin, the A-student hit it off instantly.
Mike found out that Austin loves animals and wants to be a veterinarian. Soon the talk turned to football and Austin got to live out his dream and played catch with Mike.
Austin's case manager says this smart teen would thrive in a two parent home with parents who can spend a lot of time getting to know him. Austin isn't shy about the kind of parents he would like to have.
"I'm looking for a family that's just wants an outgoing kid, adventurous...and if the mom looks like Brittany Spears and the dad looks like Mike Alstott, that's good."
Just when Austin thinks his day can't get any better, Mike seals the deal by autographing an official NFL football.
The two chat a little longer then the meeting ends with Mike telling Austin how special he is and that he knows there's a special family out there for him.
After Mike leaves Austin is quick to tell me that he's going to find a special place for his special football.
