Waterspouts are possible into the evening

Tampa Bay, Florida -- Thunderstorms with heavy rain are part of the fabric of our afternoon routine. Light winds aloft are pushing the cells slowly. A funnel was spotted 1-mile east of Belleair Bluffs.

Numerous storms will develop over Hillsborough and Pinellas. Some will be strong. Waterspouts are possible into the evening.

This set up will continue Thursday and storms could be stronger Friday with a upper low crossing south Florida into the Gulf.

SE winds will push storms back to the coast late in the afternoon with the heaviest downpours from I-75 to the coast.
