Evening Forecast: Storms Diminishing Through Midnight

Strong thunderstorms rolled through the area this evening, with a funnel cloud developing around 6:30 p.m. near Lakewood Ranch.  With the loss of daytime heating, the storms are diminishing and most of the activity is expected to clear out between 9 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Tuesday will start with mostly sunny skies, with clouds increasing and thunderstorms developing along the east and west coast sea breeze during the mid-afternoon hours. As we stay in an easterly flow,  showers and storms will push west toward the coast.

Tuesday: Sunny skies for the morning, with a low temperature around 74 degrees. Partly cloudy afternoon with a high near 90. East/Northeast winds between 5-12 mph. Thunderstorms developing mid-afternoon. Coverage of storms is 50%-60%, and expected between 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Wednesday: Sunny skies for the morning, with a low temperature around 75 degrees. Partly cloudy afternoon with a high near 90.  Northeast winds between 5-12 mph. Thunderstorms developing mid-afternoon. Coverage of storms is 40%-50% between 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Thursday:     Mostly sunny in the morning, with a low of 75 degrees.  Clouds increase through the afternoon with a high near 89.  East winds between 5-7 mph. Thunderstorms developing mid-afternoon. Coverage of storms is 50% - 60% between 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Friday  Mostly sunny in the morning, with a low temperature around 76 degrees.  Partly cloudy skies in the afternoon with a high of 90 degrees and  East/Southeast winds between 5-7 mph. Thunderstorms developing mid-afternoon. Coverage of storms is 30%.

Saturday  Sunny skies for the morning, with a low temperature around 76 degrees.  Partly cloudy skies in the afternoon with a high of  91 degrees and East/Southeast winds between 5-7 mph.  Thunderstorms developing mid-afternoon.  Coverage of storms is 40%
