Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - D.C. United isn't making much noise in league play, but the club secured a place in its fifth U.S. Open Cup final on Wednesday with a 2-0 semifinal victory over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

United will travel to Real Salt Lake on Oct. 1 for the final after RSL claimed a 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers in Wednesday's other semifinal.

Dwayne De Rosario put United in front one minute before halftime when Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson fumbled a deflected shot, allowing the United midfielder to tap home the rebound.

Nick DeLeon doubled the lead shortly after the break when he took a pass from James Riley and beat Johnson at his near post.

D.C. United will be bidding to win its third U.S. Open Cup title in October, while Real Salt Lake is making its first appearance in the final after Wednesday's win.

Salt Lake needed just seven minutes to seize the advantage when Alvaro Saborio got up to head home Kyle Beckerman's corner kick. Saborio turned provider in the 78th minute when he set up a shot for Joao Plata, who found the bottom left corner of the net from outside the penalty area, while Diego Valeri pulled a goal back late for the Timbers, but it wasn't enough.
