TAMPA, Florida -- It's not every day that someone famous comes to your house, especially if they're over six feet tall and covered in fuzz.

"Oh my gosh, Thunderbug is in our house!" screamed Dominic Forlizzo this past Father's Day weekend. "A lot of kids don't get to hug him every day."

But, this was no ordinary day. His mom, Dawn, arranged for the Lightning's mascot to come to their home to surprise her husband, Chris.

Thunderbug delivered tickets, a puck autographed by new head coach Jon Cooper, and tons of smiles.

"Hockey is my favorite sport," said Chris, who admitted his son knows more about the Bolts than he does. "It's something great to do with our children."

Chris doesn't get to spend as much time at home as he'd like to. He works six days a week as a cook. He watches as many Lightning games as he can and said he's even been to over 250 games since the team started playing in what is now Tropicana Field. That was back in 1992. Now, he's passing his love for the team on to his son.

"It's debatable," Dominic said when asked who was a bigger fan -- him or his dad.

Dawn knew her son would blow the surprise.

"Dominic has a bit of a big mouth," she said.

She only told them that "someone was coming".

Thunderbug made Chris' Father's Day special. The family nearly lost their youngest son, Anthony, last year. Now they cherish every second together more than ever.

"Family is everything," said Chris.
