Hey, Joe! Two more to go, and this long, long national nightmare is over.
The Bucs are only playing for pride now and a 6-10 record, which looks better than a 4-12 record.
What is there to gain from these last two games.? Two road games at St. Louis and New Orleans?
Well, they can lose them, and get a better position in the Draft, which right now doesn't seem like a bad idea. They need more good players.
Or they can at least find what happened to the offense. It's lousy right now. Bobby Rainey has had two good games and three bad ones. That shows you how inconsistent the offensive line has been. And I don't see it changing in the last two games. Losing Carl Nicks for virtually the entire season has been a huge blow, and Davin Joseph not being the same player he was before the knee injury is another blow.
The Bucs say Mike Glennon has not regressed. The numbers would disagree. But I think he's just playing like a rookie. Some ups, some downs, inconsistency ... I couldn't say yet if he's the long-term answer.
On defense, at least the Bucs know they have a future star, if not a star already, in Lavonte David.
And then there's Greg Schiano ... I say he's safe for next year. But after that, without improvement, look out.
I'm Dave Wirth, and I'll see you at the game...
