Hello, Joe Bucs Fan... are you like me, are you getting tired of the preseason already?
Don't look for things to be much different from last week. Against the Patriots, most of the starters will play a couple of series, and that's it. It's the fear of injury, and the Bucs saw it close up this week when Tom Brady was injured in practice.
First off, Greg Schiano would like to see better ball security; 4 turnovers last week was awful, and some of that was the young players getting their first taste of game action. It takes some getting used to, so expect to see more of the kids playing.
I think Carl Nicks will get a few snaps. He's got to see how much pain he can tolerate... a bit alarming to find out his foot injury is going to affect him all season, maybe longer.
And the Bucs still need to find more pressure from the front 4. So, more playing time for Da'Quan Bowers, and Adrian Clayborn, if Clayborn gets in the game at all.
It won't be until next week that we see something approaching the opening day lineup for the Bucs.
I'm Dave Wirth, and I'll see you at the game.
