Gerald McCoy has been called a bust, even injury riddled but now he must be called a pro bowler. The third overall selection from the 2010 NFL draft out of Oklahoma will make his way to Oahu for the league's annual all-star game January 27.

McCoy's first selection to the Pro Bowl comes in a season where he's posted career highs' in sacks with 5, and tackles for a loss. The defensive tackle has been a constant on the league's best defense against the run and he credits players and coaches around the NFL for taking notice of his efforts as the key reason for his trip to Hawaii.

"I am really at a loss for words because I really didn't expect anything like this," said McCoy. "Apparently I've done something cause my peers felt I was worthy of playing in this game."

Tampa Bay had three players named as alternates for the NFC roster. Safety Ronde Barber could make his sixth trip. Barber ranks in the NFL's top ten with 4 interceptions. Wide Receiver Vincent Jackson has also been wait-listed, despite his over 1,300 yards receiving and rookie running back Doug Martin could potentially all make their way to Aloha Stadium
