Falcons edge Bucs, 24-23

Tampa, FL-- The Atlanta Falcons edged the Bucs, 24-23, on a Michael Turner 3-yard touchdown run, with 7:55 left.

First play of the 4th quarter, Doug Martin scored his second 1-yard touchdown run of the game, to put the Bucs on top, 20-17.

After E.J. Biggers sacked Matt Ryan and forced a fumble, Connor Barth kicked his 4th field goal of the game to make it 23-17, Bucs.

But the Falcons drove down the field, and Turner scored the game-winner.

The Bucs had another chance, but Barth's 56-yard field goal was wide right, with 3:32 left.

In the 3rd quarter, Connor Barth kicked his 3rd field goal of the game, a 42-yarder, to put the Bucs in front, 13-10.

But on the next play from scrimmage, Matt Ryan hit Julio Jones on an 80-yard bomb, over CB Leonard Johnson, to give the Falcons a 17-13 lead.

Ronde Barber intercepted Matt Ryan, with 6:00 left in the 2nd quarter.  On the ensuing drive, Mike Williams took an end-around, and hit Vincent Jackson for 28 yards, down to the 3 yard line.  After the drive stalled, Connor Barth kicked a 22 yard field goal for a 10-10 game.

The Falcons had a chance to take a halftime lead, but Matt Bryant was wide-left on a 22-yard field goal, as time expired.

Ryan was 15-19 passing, for 173 yards in the first half.

Josh Freeman was 5 of 6 passing, for 61 yards.  Doug Martin had 8 rushes for 24 yards, and a touchdown in the first half.

The Falcons opened the game with a 67 yard drive, that culminated in a 31-yard field goal from Matt Bryant.

The Bucs answered with an 81-yard drive, that Doug Martin finished off with a 1-yard touchdown run.  Bucs in front, 7-3.

In the 2nd quarter, the Falcons came back with a 75-yard drive.  Jacquizz Rodgers ran in from 5 yards out for the score, that gave the Falcons a 10-7 lead.
