ST. PETERSBURG, FL- It's hasn't been a question of if, but when the Rays would call up top prospect Wil Myers from Durham. Tampa Bay finally pulled the trigger this evening and will add him to the roster for their series in Boston beginning on Tuesday.

Myers led triple-A Durham with 14 home runs and 57 RBI"S in 64 games. The Rays optioned infielder Ryan Roberts to Durham to make room on the 25-man roster.

Myers was last year's Minor League Player of the year and the big piece in the Rays' off-season trade of James Shields, Wade Davis and Elliott Johnson to Kansas City. The 22-year old right handed slugger has hit .324 and 10 home runs in the last 23 contests. He'll wear the number 9 for Tampa Bay.

The Bulls pulled Myers off the diamond in Indianapolis during Sunday's ballgame in the second inning.

As for Roberts, the 32-year old utility infielder played in 47 games this season for Tampa Bay, hitting .238.
