Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Stevan Stamkos scored the game-winning goal with
5:04 left in the final period to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 win
over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
A Sergie Gonchar penalty put the Lightning on the power play with 5:20 left.
Tampa Bay got the puck into the Ottawa zone. Martin St. Louis passed the disc
to Vincent Lecavalier to the right of the goal. Stamkos darted to the net and
pounded home a feed from Lecavalier.
Lecavalier and Pierre-Cedric Labrie added one tally apiece, and St. Louis
finished with two assists for the Lightning, who had dropped two straight
entering the contest. Ben Bishop made 28 saves in the triumph.
Daniel Alfredsson and Guillaume Latendresse both lit the lamp for Ottawa,
which remained in sixth place with 44 points despite the loss.
Craig Anderson made 21 saves in the setback.
