It didn't take Willie Taggart very long to get ready for his first practice as USF... he was already dressed for work!

"I actually slept in my practice uniform. I was ready to go. I just had to put on my shoes," said Taggart with a smile. "My hat wasn't on but my whistle was on."

He's only been wearing green and gold for a couple of weeks now, but in that short amount of time, Willie Taggart has made a huge impression on his football team. The players say it just feels different out here on day #1 and it makes them want to play harder for their new coach.

"It's a whole different atmosphere here," said defensive tackle Todd Chandler. "What's not to like about him? He's always enthusiastic. His energy level is always up to par. You'll never catch him down. He's always smiling."

"It's been a lot of fun," said quarterback Matt Floyd. "That's been the big difference. We've done a lot of competition stuff and just really trying to hit home the fact that we need to have fun out here again."

It's fun when you win... and USF hasn't done much of that lately. But the new man in charge wants his Bulls to forget about the losing.

"He's made it very clear that the past is the past and that we are not going to worry about that anymore and we're going forward," said quarterback Bobby Eveld. "We want to move on from that and have positive experiences from here on out."

"Ready to attack this day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind," said Taggart. "We need to have some juice."

With Taggart manning the whistle, USF hopes juice leads to wins this fall.
