Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - After mowing through another opponent,
Louisville seems intent on making another deep run through the NCAA
Russ Smith had 27 points and the Cardinals' defense created intense havoc in
an 82-56 drubbing of Colorado State in third-round play of the Midwest Region.
For the second game in a row and 15th time this season, the Cardinals (31-5)
forced 20 turnovers and will now head back to the Sweet 16 for a second
Gorgui Dieng scored 12 points and Montrezl Harrell had 11 for Louisville,
which will face either Saint Louis or Oregon Friday in Indianapolis.
Colorado State's offense was turned sluggish by Louisville's pressure and
never got into any sort of rhythm. Greg Smith scored 14 points and Daniel
Bejarano had 10 for the Rams (26-9), who had advanced after defeating Missouri
in second-round play.
