Bradenton, FL-- The Rays signed Luke Scott to a second contract, hoping he would be healthy. It looks like they guessed right, at least for now.
Scott singled and doubled on Wednesday, in the Rays' win over the Pirates. He also scored a run, and drove in a run.
Scott spent 2 different stints on the disabled list in 2012, as he was struggling after shoulder surgery.
Now, Scott says he's over the surgery, and looking forward to showing the Rays what he can do when he's healthy.
"It feels good," said Luke Scott after the win, and referring to his shoulder. "My whole career, before I injured my shoulder, I handled lefties very well... I'm just glad to be back to my former self, where I can do things like that... Take a ball that's middle, middle in and stay through it and drive it to the big part of the field instead of rolling over."
Scott was talking about his wall-rattling double, off a Pittsburgh left-hander.
