Tampa, Florida -- The best technology in the world is being used in the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. China has sent ten satellites to scan the area.

A private company is handing its satellite shots over to the public, asking for help finding the plane.

And the people behind much of this amazing technology will be right here in Tampa Bay next month.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES FLIGHT MH370: Everything we know

The search for the missing Malaysian jet will definitely be a big topic when many of the world's top spies and military planners are walking the halls of the Tampa Convention Center.

Searching for a missing plane, getting food to a village, or capturing a village are all ways satellites and computers that track the world are changing our world.

And the world's conference to look at how it's happening -- and what's coming next -- will be in Tampa in April.

The Geospatial Intelligence or "GEOINT" Symposium will bring together the spies and scientists who study the earth to fight terrorists, stop smuggling, and help America and our allies stay on top.

"It says Tampa Bay is where this activity is happening," said Rick Homans, who runs the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.

With MacDill Air Force Base, USF, a growing number of military contractors, and supportive cities in every direction -- Tampa Bay is becoming an important crossroads for military minds.

"And in a very practical way, it brings hundreds of companies here right in our back yard -- and these are exactly the kinds of companies that we home to lure here," Homans said.

Businesses and people in Tampa Bay are welcome to get involved in the GEOINT conference from April 14th to 17th.

There's a charity golf tournament, a women's leadership luncheon, and lot more. For information, follow this link to the GEOINT website.
