3D Oreo printing machine teams up with Twitter for on trend cookies

Austin, TX (CNN) - The 21st annual South by Southwest festival is under way in Austin, Texas.  The festival has become the place to preview the technology of tomorrow and what's catching the eye of many is being able to print your food.

This machine is giving a whole new meaning to cookie cutting.  Austin, TX - It's called the Oreo Trending Vending Machine.  Powered by twitter, the machine allows South by Southwest attendees to create custom Oreo cookies, based on trending social conversations.

Users choose from 12 flavors and colors of creme.  Using 3-d technology, the machine assembles the unique Oreo in less than two minutes.  It's a step up in giving the customer what they want.

B. Bonin Bough, VP of Global Media and Consumer Engagement, Mondelez International, said, "I think one day you'll be able to 3D print a lot of things, everything from chocolate to candy, that's already being done right now, but again, it's not so much just about the technology although it's breakthrough. It's really about how do you get to understand what consumers want and deliver those kinds of customized experiences."

Mondelez International, the makers of Oreo and Twitter partnered to create to showcase the Oreo Trending Vending Machine.
