ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (WTLV) -- Two people were injured in an early morning industrial accident explosion.

St. John's County Fire Rescue responded to the 1700 block of Adams Acres Road around 7:45 a.m. following reports of an industrial accident, according to SJCFR.

SJCFR contained the scene and treated two unidentified victims with injuries. Both patients were transported to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation suggests the victims were welding a large tank when residual combustible gas within the tank ignited causing an explosion. The incident is currently under investigation by SJCFR and the St. John's County Sheriff's Office.
