St. Petersburg, Florida -- On Monday, contractors got back to work painting a Pinellas County bridge after 10 News alerted the City of St. Pete about paint chips floating in the water.
The bridge is located at 40th Avenue Northeast heading over Placido Bayou and into Shore Acres and Venetian Isles.
The City stopped its contractors after discovering they were not following regulations when painting parts of the bridge. Since our story aired, the City has tested the water near the bridge and sat down with the contractors about sticking to the regulations.
Today, inspectors were out with the painters, who were just doing some touch ups, and will be back out with them on Tuesday when they start to paint the other side of the bridge.
