St. Petersburg, Florida -- The son of the late Congressman C.W. Bill Young says he's running for the Florida House of Representatives.
Bill Young II will run as a Republican for House District 68, which includes much of St. Petersburg, Largo and Pinellas Park, as well as portions of unincorporated Pinellas County and Clearwater.

This is the first time Young has run for elected office. Before he can run in the November election, he will first face an August 26 primary against Joshua Black, who made headlines earlier this year for tweeting he supported hanging President Obama for treason.
The winner of the primary will then take on Democratic incumbent Dwight Dudley on November 4.
