Pasco County, Florida -- "This has a huge financial impact for us," said Ed Caum of Pasco Tourism.

Try $78 million per year in net gross. Batting cages, restaurants, retail, on property dorms and loads of baseball fields with a projected 600 to 700,000 visitors each year are what Pasco is pitching to major league teams.

"Pasco County is open for sports business. We have the highways to move people in and about the area we also have the dirt so there is the opportunity for other sports growth," said Caum.

Now the county maintains their number one reason for attending Thursday night's dinner is to let the region, as well as Major League Baseball, know that Pasco is about to become a major player in baseball sports tourism, but the developer of this project tells 10 News he's already in talks with at least two major league teams.

"The reason I say 'two' is because we've reached out to more than two, but active discussions have occurred with two," said developer James Talton.

The complex could be hosting tournaments as early as 2016. With options to modify to fit a major league team.

"One of our main objective is to let the major league teams know that we are serious and the county is serious about being in the baseball industry," said Talton.
