Two representatives responded Thursday: Rep. Dennis Ross of Lakeland and Rep. Rich Nugent of Hernando County.
"I have been working diligently with my colleagues on this issue to find solutions that will help homeowners in Florida," Rep. Ross said. "Floridians should be able to easily challenge rate increase prices and find private insurers."
As for Rep. Nugent, he said "We're going to continue meeting with experts, working with the realtors, and reaching out to our colleagues in other states. All of us want to see this fixed and we're going to keep pushing until it is."
10 News asked the Governor about his thoughts on the stalemate.
"The president can do something. He could do it today," Gov. Scott said. "He could take the pen. He could delay this bill. It's a bill that he signed; he can delay it."
10 News later heard from Representative Gus Bilirakis, who said he believes there will be a fix in two weeks.
"Rest assured that I am supportive of all serious attempts to provide immediate relief to my constituents. Based on my discussions with majority leadership and other Members, I remain hopeful and confident that we will soon be able to reach an agreement to address the flood insurance system's solvency and affordability."
