Tampa, Florida -- The 110th edition of the Florida State Fair runs from February 6th through 17th.

Ours is the first state fair in the nation each year, so we get all of the fun stuff first: new rides, crazy food, and fresh entertainment that's included with your admission.

The biggest independent midway in America fills the Florida State Fairgrounds along I-4, with more than 110 rides to celebrate the Fair's 110th anniversary.

This year's midway includes the Comet II, an enormous adult-size coaster that's the largest traveling roller coaster in North America.

More than 6,000 animals will be on display alongside a ton of other agricultural exhibits.

Concerts -- nearly all free -- include headliners America, Sister Hazel, Uncle Kracker, and Country Gold Tour, with many others

Free shows are also on the 2014 fair schedule every day with acts like fire-eaters, Elvis impersonators, and motorcycle daredevils.

Since last year, the fair has done $1.7 million in bathroom and behind-the-scenes upgrades to the fairgrounds.

Thursday's opening day is Heroes Day, offering free admission to several categories of local heroes and a free concert by the band "America" in the evening.

Friday February 7th is fair day in Hillsborough County, with free admission for kids if they get a ticket from their schools.
