Gainesville, Florida -- This Sunday will mark 25 years since Tiffany Sessions vanished without a trace near the University of Florida campus, and now, detectives say there's a major development in her disappearance.
On Feb. 9, 1989, a mother's worst nightmare turned reality for Hilary Sessions when her 20-year-old daughter went out for a walk near the University of Florida Campus and was never seen again.
After years of searching and holding out hope, only a few clues into what happened to the blonde, bubbly student have surfaced.

"Over the course of 25 years, there's been a lot of ups and downs," says Sessions. "The hardest part is not knowing if she'll come home alive or in a pine box...[but] you always have to have hope."
But Thursday, the roller coaster ride may come to a peak for Hilary as the Alachua County Sheriff's Office will announce a lead suspect in Tiffany's disappearance. A website dedicated to finding Tiffany says the suspect is a known serial killer Paul Rowles.
"I'm happy and very ecstatic," says Sessions.
For Tiffany's mother, Hilary, she says no matter what else is revealed at Thursday's announcement, the important thing to remember is that she never gave up hope.
"A long time ago, I came to terms of what may have happened to her and the person, or people, responsible and I forgive that person for the crimes they committed to Tiffany," says Sessions.
As for Rowles, the man we will learn more about at Thursday's press conference, was sentenced to life in prison for another crime and he has since died of natural causes. But police still dig for clues to find the one that my lead them to her.
We'll of course have the latest on these new developments released Thursday right here on 10 News.
