Tampa police investigating a home robbery and shooting on North Florida Avenue

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa police are investigating a home invasion robbery that left resulted in two people getting shot and taken to the hospital. 

The robbery occurred at an apartment on North Florida Avenue, just before 1 a.m. on February 2. Derek Huff was outside smoking a cigarette when he was approached by a suspect wearing a bandana over his face. The suspect demanded money and when Huff said he had non, the suspect shot Huff in the back.

The suspect forced his way into the apartment and shot Mary Huff in the arm. 

Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they sustained non-life threatening injuries.
