VENICE, Florida (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a 71-year-old woman ran over her husband in the driveway of their Venice home.
Troopers say 69-year-old Gary Lamson was standing in his driveway Wednesday when his wife got into their 2010 Lexus.
The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports Lamson tried to stop his wife, Joan. But she hit him with the front of the vehicle.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities haven't released other details about the incident, including whether Joan Lamson provided an explanation. The highway patrol is investigating the case.
It's the second driveway fatality in Sarasota County in January. On Jan. 9 a 20-month-old girl died after her mother moved the family car and didn't notice the child had followed her to the driveway
