TAFT, Florida (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a 5-month-old baby was ejected from a car that was hit by an Amtrak train.
The collision happened Tuesday morning in central Florida.
Authorities say the child was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando with minor injuries. Another passenger in the car was also treated for minor injuires.
WESH reports that witnesses told investigators the crossing bar was down but the vehicle drove around it and onto the tracks.
There were 45 people on the train, but no injuries were reported.
Charges are pending against the driver of the car.
