Tampa, Florida -- Authorities have arrested a man involved in a recent drive-by shooting that killed one person in Tampa.
Tampa Police say two brothers, who are in their 30s, were tossing a football outside a home at West Main Street and North Rome Avenue on Sunday, Jan. 20 when a car drove by and shots were fired.
They were both taken to a hospital, where one of the brothers later died.
Detectives working the case developed Gerald Cheatham as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. After multiple interviews and surveillance, authorities found Cheatham hiding with several people at a home on E. Osborne Ave. in Tampa.
A task force surrounded the house and ordered the occupants out of the house. Cheatham surrendered after several minutes and was taken into custody without incident.
