Blondies (Courtesy Brian Ochalla on Flickr)
Today is the unofficial national holiday which celebrates blonde brownies (aka blondies).
What is a blonde brownie you ask? It is very similar to a normal brownie, just minus the cocoa. So what replaces the cocoa to give it the blonde look? Brown sugar.
Some people have been known to get creative and add white chocolate, chocolate chips, nuts, toffee and or butterscotch to their recipes.
Blonde brownies are served unfrosted as the brown sugar is said to be sweet enough.
