Pinellas County, Florida -- Congressional candidate Alex Sink says she has the solution for stopping the flood insurance rate hike impacting people in Tampa Bay and the state.
On Tuesday, Sink, along with Pinellas County homeowners, said she wants to delay the spike and roll back prices for those who have seen an increase. She adds FEMA needs to be more transparent and complete remapping studies that are used for price calculations. There also needs to be a better appeals process and more consumer advocacy.
The Democrat also picked up an endorsement Tuesday, the Pinellas Realtor Association is now on her side to fill the late Bill Young's congressional seat.
She facing Libertarian Lucas Overby and Republican David Jolly in the General Election March 11.
