(USA TODAY) - Jay Leno will exit his run on The Tonight Show (for the second time) with the guest that started it: Comedian Billy Crystal.
On Feb. 6, the night before the Olympics opening ceremony, Crystal will join Leno on the couch, as he did on May 25, 1992, when Leno opened his show with a joke about Dan Quayle's criticism of single mother Murphy Brown. Garth Brookswill be the final musical guest.
Jimmy Fallon, who will succeed Leno on Feb. 17, will appear on Feb. 3, to smooth the transition, along with Betty White, making her 19th appearance. Other final-week guests include Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, Charles Barkley, Blake Shelton and Lyle Lovett, who with this appearance will become the show's most-frequent musical guest.
