Tampa, Florida -- Just this week, three Bay Area kids have been hit by cars near their schools.
Investigators say all of those children were in marked crosswalks when it happened.
So what can parents do to make their kids more visible?
When it gets cold, lots of us wrap our little ones up in jackets but parents should stay away from dark colors like black or gray. Instead dress kids in light colored jackets or ones with a colorful design.
Parents can also buy some reflective tape for $3 at the hardware store. Wrap it around the straps on their backpack and it can be seen from 100 feet away!
And if your kid is on a bike, invest in head and tail lights. A basic kid can cost only $17.
