Pinellas County, Florida -- Park Rangers at the Great Smoky Mountains National are searching for a man wanted in connection to a first degree murder charge in Pinellas County.
Reports say James Quilliams may have been dropped off near Gatlinburg early on Wednesday, January 15. Since, rangers say they've received several reports from visitors who have seen someone fitting Quilliams' description in the Sugarlands area.
Quilliams shared a home in East Lake Woodlands with 48-year-old Teresa Compton, whose body was found on Monday. Police say she died of upper body trauma.
Rangers do not believe Quilliams poses a high risk to employees or the public at this time as he has not exhibited threatening behavior towards the general public. Still, authorities are warning drivers to not pick up any hitchhikers as they search the area.
