Savannah the mountain lion who got loose from Survival Outreach Sanctuary in Spring Hill was caught shortly after 12:30 and taken back to her enclosure.

Spring Hill, Florida -- The owner of an exotic animal sanctuary, Judy Watson, is facing a $500 fine, and possibly jail time, after a lioness escaped from its enclosure.

Florida Fish and Wildlife cited the owner of Survival Outreach Sanctuary with "improper caging."

Last Friday, a 7-year-old African lioness named Savannah escaped by digging a hole under her cage. She avoided capture for hours, but was later tranquilized after being found at the far end of the property.

She has since been placed in a new enclosure.
