Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies say a toddler has been airlifted to a hospital after falling from a second-story window Monday morning.

The incident occurred at a home in the 4500 block of Olive Avenue.

Authorities say the 2-year-old was standing in front of an open window on the second floor of the home and fell after apparently pushing on the screen causing it to break free from the window frame.

The toddler fell about 10 feet to the ground below and was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived at the home. The child was flown to All Children's Hospital in St. Pete.
