Lakeland, Florida -- An anti-bullying event was held on Sunday at an American Legion post in Lakeland.
Tricia Norman attended the event. She's the mother of 12-year-old Rebecca Sedwick, who took her own life three months ago after being bullied.
The goal of the event was to raise money and awareness in the fight against bullying in hopes of changing laws.
"We're trying to get the community to come together and to realize how serious a problem bullying has become," said Norman.
Charges were dropped against the two girls accused of bullying Norman's daughter.
For Norman and her family, this will be the first holiday season without Rebecca.
