Clearwater, Florida -- The City of Clearwater has issued a precautionary boil water notice for the area of Cherry Lane and McMullen Booth Road following the repair of a broken water main.
Crews worked through most of Monday morning to repair the 8-inch water main that broke on McMullen Booth Road, approximately 600 feet north of Gulf to Bay Boulevard, around 5:30 a.m.
City officials say the break does not appear to be caused by any outside force (contractor, digging, etc).
The precautionary boil water notice has been issued to 3087 Cherry Lane and 150 and 200 McMullen Booth Road. Water samples will be taken to the lab and the city says it expects to get back the results on Sept. 27.
If the samples come back clear, a rescission notice will be issued to residents. The roadway is now re-opened.
