Almost 600 runners at prostate cancer awareness race

Clearwater, Florida - Nearly 600 men took part in this year's Miles for Men, a prostate cancer awareness race to the beach and back sponsored by the Morton Plant Meese Foundation.

The event raised money for community screenings and education services and helps prostate cancer patients who may not have the resources for treatment.

The 5K race winners were husband and wife team Lee Stephens (17 minutes, 1 second) and Christa Stephens (19:29), St. Petersburg.

David Taliafero, St. Petersburg, was the men's 10K winner in a time of 38 minutes, 31 seconds and Jessica French-King, Palm Harbor won the women's 10K in a time of 48 minutes, 12 seconds.
