Engineers examine a possible sinkhole found on the campus of Cambridge Christian School.
TAMPA, Florida - Students at Cambridge Christian School are getting an extra-long Labor Day weekend, after there were concerns of two possible sinkholes on the Tampa campus.
The Tampa Tribune reports officials found a hole that's five feet in diameter in a courtyard at the private school on Monday. They found another hole that is two feet in diameter on Wednesday.
Engineers examined the holes on Thursday and determined they were caused by an old drainage pipe that had some leaks.
School officials decided they would still cancel classes on Friday and leave the Monday Labor Day holiday intact, because many families have already started their weekend plans and gone out of town.
The school is celebrating its 49th year has some 600 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
