Police: Sons try to subdue man after he stabs their mother

Haines City, Florida -- A Haines City man was arrested early Sunday morning after two men told police he stabbed their mother to death.

When Haines City Police officers arrived at the home in the 100 block of Richmar Avenue, they reported seeing Floyd O'Hara Jr. and Joaquin Jackson trying to subdue Tommy Jones after he allegedly stabbed their mother/his wife Juanita Jackson-Jones to death.

Police say both O'Hara, 24, and Jackson, 33, suffered injuries during the struggle and were taken to local hospitals where they were treated and later released from local hospitals.

Juanita Jackson-Jones, 56, died from her injuries on scene.

Tommy Jones, 49, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder, two counts attempted first degree murder and violation of probation.

The investigation is ongoing.
