TAMPA - Steven Bench has added his name to the quarterback battle for the starting spot at USF. The former Penn State signal caller is transferring from Happy Valley to Tampa according to Bulls' head coach Willie Taggart.  Bench is eligible to play in 2013 due to Penn State's NCAA sanctions and giving the freshman three years of eligibility.

"We're definitely excited that Steven decided to join the USF family," Taggart said. "He is a coach's son, who brings a lot of toughness to the game. His addition will also elevate the competition at quarterback, which will be good for all the players at the position. We're looking forward to his arrival on campus so he can start working out with the guys, while getting acclimated to the way we do things."

Bench played in two games last season for the Nittany Lions'. Making his debut on the road at Virginia, completing two passes, and combining for 30 yards of offense. His only other game action was also on the road at Purdue.
