Oldsmar, Florida -- A man arrested for robbing an Oldsmar cleaners Tuesday afternoon now faces numerous other robbery charges for crimes throughout Pinellas County.
Deputies say the man, identified as 45-year-old Michael Bourdeau, robbed the Sun Country Cleaners in the 3200 block of Tampa Road around 3:18 p.m. Tuesday while armed with a large knife. He then fled in a beige/gold Mercury Grand Marquis.
After a BOLO was issued for the car that was discovered to be stolen, deputies found it parked in the Coastal Plaza at Main Street and King Arthur Court in Dunedin.
The deputies waited until they saw Bourdeau leave the Blew Chocolate Hair Salon and get in the car before attempting an arrest. When they tried to pull the car over, Bourdeau rammed the cruiser but was eventually stopped and arrested.
After an interview about a series of other armed robberies committed over the last few days in various jurisdictions, Bourdeau was charged by the with in various other robberies detailed below.
The Clearwater Police Department has charged Bourdeau with two robberies, both occurring on April 6 at Frenchy's South Beach Cafe and Frenchy's Saltwater Cafe in Clearwater.
The Largo Police Department charged Bourdeau with three robberies in two days at Tony's Shoe Repair on Indian Rocks Road and The Rack on Ulmerton Road on April 15 and a BP gas station on Ulmerton Road on April 16.
He was also charged with the armed robbery of the cleaners by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
