Riverview, Florida -- Update: Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials have updated us on the details of Tuesday morning's fatal crash near Falkenburg Rd. and Crescent Park Dr.

A report sent just before 1 p.m. says Terrance Mitchell, the driver of a 2008 Dodge pick-up, was heading northeast around 60 miles-per-hour in the curb lane of Falkenburg Rd. when, according to witnesses, he ran the Crescent Park Dr. traffic light and caused the accident.

As a result of running the light, Mitchell's truck reporedly hit the driver's door of a 2003 Pontiac driven by Scott Valentino, who had a green light, and was heading north and turning right onto Falkenburg Rd.

Officials say Valentino did not survive the crash.

Investigators took a sample of Mitchell's blood, and reports say it does not appear as if Mitchell was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Mitchell, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, could be charged pending their continued investigation, says the report.
