Winter Haven, Florida -- Winter Haven Police have arrested a Lakeland woman for being in possession of counterfeit bills -- and this wasn't the first time.
Authorities say on March 8, 42-year-old Jennifer Hutto was arrested for passing counterfeit bills at a Winter Haven Dairy Queen. During her arrest, an officer found $660 worth of counterfeit $20 bills on her.
She was charged with possession of counterfeit notes (10 or more bills), passing counterfeit bank notes, and driving with a suspended license.
During her arrest, her vehicle was impounded and when she came to the Winter Haven Police Department on March 22 to get it back, officers arrested her again on a Polk County warrant for passing counterfeit bills in the unincorporated areas of the county.
As officers took her into custody, she was allegedly seen trying to hide a purse that she had in her possession. A search of the purse's contents revealed more counterfeit bills inside -- $360 worth of $5 and $20 dollar bills.
Hutto was booked into the Polk County Jail for possession of counterfeit notes (10 or more bills), passing counterfeit bank notes and smuggling contraband - bringing counterfeit bills into government agency.
