Man robs Wood Fire Pizza at 344 First Avenue South, St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Wood Fire Pizza was robbed by a man with a knife and it was all caught on tape.

On Sunday, March 24 around 3:37 a.m. officers responded to Wood Fire Pizza at 344 First Avenue South regarding an armed robbery.

According to reports, two employees were closing up the store. One employee went outside the back door to empty the trash when he was approached by a lone male.

The man punched him in the face, threatened him with a butcher knife, and then tied his hands with zip ties.

He then forced the employee to the back of the business and pushed him down on to the floor.

The suspect made his way into an inner office where he confronted the other employee, threatened her with the knife and then used zip ties to bind her hands as well.

Reportedly, the suspect took the night's receipts that were lying on the office desk and fled the business.

The suspect was described as:

  • In his 20's
  • Approximately 5'10", 130 lbs.
  • Pockmarked/acne face 
  • Wearing a dark hoodie and was possibly riding a bicycle.
