Port Charlotte, FL (Sports Network) - Colby Rasmus hit a grand slam and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-1, in spring training action.

J.A. Happ allowed just one run on four hits and walked four in 4 2/3 innings for the Blue Jays, who scored all of their runs in the eighth inning.

Yunel Escobar had an RBI triple for the Rays, who were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Ryan Roberts was 2-for-4 with two doubles, but was also caught stealing twice.

Jeff Niemann got the start for the Rays and pitched six innings of two-hit shutout baseball.  Joe Maddon has yet to decide on his 5th starting pitcher.  Niemann and Roberto Hernandez are the top candidates.

However, Kirby Yates blew the save by allowing all six runs, though only two were earned.

Fernandy Rodney pitched a perfect 7th inning, with 2 strikeouts.
