Port Richey, Florida -- With a cold front moving through the area this weekend bringing temperatures down to the 30's, Pasco County officials have decided to open a cold weather shelter Saturday and Sunday nights.

These low temperatures and wind chills are dangerous to anyone who will be outside for a long period of time. Children, the elderly and pets are especially vulnerable to the cold and extra care should be taken to protect them. Make sure to bundle up and dress in layers to keep as warm as possible.

The cold weather shelter at the Community Congregational Church, 6533 Circle Drive in Port Richey will be open at 6 p.m.
