PLANT CITY, Florida -- On Friday, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested 44-year-old Randy Lee Lisenby. He's been charged with child abuse and arson after investigators say he got into an argument with a woman at a home in Plant City.

Detectives say the woman wanted Lisenby out of her home because of his drug use. The argument escalated, and Lisenby allegedly grabbed a bottle of lighter fluid and started splashing it around the west side of the exit door. The woman's two toddlers were standing nearby, and were splashed by the fluid.

Detectives say Lisenby said he was going to burn down the trailer.

The woman took the children to a neighbor. She says while she was gone, Lisenby burned a rug and blankets in the children's bedroom. He barricaded himself in the trailer when deputies arrived. He allegedly told deputies he was going to burn down the trailer and die inside.

Deputies say he was seen lighting paper where he'd splashed the lighter fluid earlier. Investigators were able to eventually coax him out of the trailer.

Fire investigators and the state fire marshal are conducting an arson investigation. Meanwhile, Child Protective Services has been notified.

Lisenby faces two counts of child abuse, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of felony arson.
