St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police say they have arrested one of the two men wanted in connection with a series of convenience store robberies.
Police say around 1 p.m. Thursday, detectives arrested 20-year-old Anthony Beauford while he was in a car at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 34th Street. He did not resist arrest.
Beauford has been charged with the robbery Wednesday at the Sunoco station at 6800 4th Street North after detectives say he was identified as a result of forensic evidence left at the crime scene. Detectives say in the video released yesterday he was the unarmed suspect in the black hooded sweatshirt who went behind the counter.
Detectives are still trying to identify the second man who is believed to be the same person in the photo released of the first robbery at the Kenwood Citgo gas station in the Pinellas Park sweatshirt.
St. Pete Police released video Thursday of the still at-large suspect at a convenience store on Feb. 6 cashing in the lottery tickets from the above robbery.
Anyone who might recognize this man or have information concerning the robberies is asked to call Detective Wallace Pavelski at 727-893-4823. Callers may also use 727-893-7780 or the TIP line at 727-892-5000.
