Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police are investigating a crash involving an SUV and bicyclist on Nebraska Avenue early Tuesday morning.

Police say around 4:45 a.m., 32-year-old Jacob Feaster was heading south on Nebraska Avenue in a Honda CRV and hit 55-year-old Edward Lewis when he got to the intersection at Emily Street East.

The three officers who responded to the scene began CPR and were able to regain a pulse for a short time, but it was lost again just before they were about to transport Lewis to the hospital.

He was taken to Tampa General where he is in critical condition.

Detectives say preliminary evidence indicates Feaster was not at fault. Lewis was dressed in dark clothing and did not have a light on his bicycle.

The crash is still under investigation.
